a. Accommodation. The Burn offers full board accommodation to groups, based on a minimum number of 25 people staying at least 2 nights, as described below.
- Full-Board. Accommodation (shared rooms) includes breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea & cake and a 2 course dinner. Meals are set but we can accommodate individual requirements with advance notice. We are happy to look after all dietary requirements.
b. Charges.
We offer a Membership scheme to all institutes of Higher Education, which attracts an annual fee in exchange for a discounted rate. The rate is based on full board, 24-hour period and we set a mimimum stay for all groups, who all enjoy exclusive use of the burn mansion.

If your group is a registered charitable trust or other educational group we offer a discounted rate. Please contact us to discuss. The rates are based on exclusive use, with a minimum of 25 people staying at least 2 nights.
For private hire of the Burn Mansion House, there is a minimum charge and a minimum stay of 3 nights, and we offer a bespoke food and beverage package which we encourage yout to contact our catering department to discuss : burn@goodenough.ac.uk
c. Facilities
The Burn offers spacious rooms which are created for multiple occupancy use – twins, triple and quad rooms. We do not have en suite bathrooms, instead, large bathrooms with huge baths and showers are dotted throughout the house. Many bedrooms have hand wash basins within them.
We provide :
Bath sheet, hand towel, hand soap, spring water & biscuits, tissues in each room for each person.

Our Public Rooms are much as they were designed in the 1933-35 re-modelling of the Mansion, offering the following
– Real Open fire (in the Drawing Room which staff light and oversee).

Flipcharts
– There is a large presenter TV which connects via HDMI cable to your laptop for presenting to your group.
We have yoga mats for hire, which can be used indoors or outside.

– Fishing (you will need to bring your own gear, permits can be purchased to fish the North Esk River)
d. Booking and Cancellation Policy. All bookings must be confirmed in writing (email) and secured with a deposit payment of approximately 25% of the full cost. Deposits are non-refundable. Your stay must be paid in full no later than 48 hours before your arrival date.
Booking Amendments. Your booking at The Burn is based on the information provided by you on the booking form. Whilst it is appreciated that guest numbers may flucuate, The Burn requires final numbers to be confirmed at least one calendar month before the arrival date. If no confirmation is sent then The Burn would base it’s charges on the information presented in the booking form.
* Arrival and Departure : All timings are governed by customer requirements but must be agreed by The Burn as part of the booking process Guests are requested to vacate bedrooms by 10 am on the day of departure, with no return to use the facilities in rooms. Luggage is stored in the entrance hall.
* Room Allocation : The Burn expects group members to share bedrooms.
* Single Room Rates : The Burn charges a single room supplement per room if occupied by only one person.
* The Flower Room Bar : The Burn operates a licenced bar that is subject to the operatoring terms and conditions issued by Aberdeenshire Council. This licence does not support the consumption of uncontrolled alchol and guests are not permitted to consume their own alcohol in the public areas of Burn House. The Burn operates a variable corkage charge for wines and spirits that are not purchased through The Burn.
* Smoking : The Burn operates a no smoking & no-vaping policy throughout all its properties. We ask that those who smoke or vape outside do so in an area that is not likely to cause discomfort to others and with sufficient distance from the Mansion not to cause smoke detector equipmen to be activated. This policy extends to any temporary structures, such as marquees.
* Animals : No pets are allowed in the Mansion. The policy does to apply to service dogs. There are separate rules for Self-catering accommodation, please see the relevant web pages.
* Damage : There will be charge for any damage caused bvy guests beyond normal wear and tear.
